Terms of Sale

Maker Matter is a trading name of Outer Limits Media, Inc., a Massachusetts corporation; “we” and “us” mean that company, which is the seller of record for every order placed here.

These terms apply to orders placed on this website with Maker Matter. Placing an order means you accept them.

What we sell

Most of what we list is a one-off lot — closeout stock, a shop clearance, or a discontinued colorway — described from the goods in front of us. Quantities are small and often a single unit. We describe each lot as accurately as we can, but colour on a screen is not colour in your hand.

Prices and availability

Prices are in US dollars and are the price shown on the listing at the time you order. Prices and availability can change until you have paid. Stock is shared with the other places we sell, so a lot can sell out between your putting it in the cart and your paying for it: if that happens we cancel the affected item and refund you in full — we never substitute something else.

Your order

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we take payment and send you the confirmation email. We may decline or cancel an order — for example when an item is no longer available, or a price or description is obviously wrong — and refund anything already paid.

Payment

Payment is taken at checkout by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted page. We never see or store your card number. Your order is not placed until that payment succeeds.

Promotion codes are applied at checkout, one per order, have no cash value and cannot be applied after an order is placed.

Sales tax

Massachusetts sales tax of 6.25% is added to orders shipped to a Massachusetts address.

Shipping, returns and refunds

We ship to addresses in the United States only.

Delivery services, costs, free-shipping threshold, and how a return or a refund is arranged are all set out on our Shipping & Returns page, which forms part of these terms. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the parcel to your address.

Accounts

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend an account that is used fraudulently.

Our liability

Our responsibility for any order is limited to what you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

Problems with a charge

If you do not recognise a charge from MAKERMATTER.COM on your statement, or something is wrong with an order, email orders@makermatter.com first — we resolve almost everything within a business day, and we can refund you faster than a card dispute can.

Governing law

These terms, and any order placed under them with Outer Limits Media, Inc., are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and any dispute is heard in the state or federal courts of Massachusetts.

Changes

We may update these terms; the version on this page when you order is the one that applies to that order.
